  2. Attachment support with the help of DropBox

    An idea for adding attachments, without blowing up the idea of simplicity:

    Add option for connecting an DropBox-Account. Add an area (e.g. below the note field) for dropping files. If a file is dropped, add a (shortened) url pointing to the file in the dropbox to the note - this allows accessing the files from any other client. Within Metanota a click on the file can open a local file copy.

    In my opinion this can be a lightweight way for enriching metanota with attachments, without impairing the basic idea of simplenote.

  3. Double-click open note in separate window

    Double-clicking (keyboard shortcut too) will open a note in a separate window. This makes things easier when you must view more than one note at a time.

  4. Make the note pane detachable and resizeable

    These two improvements would permit greater utility when using MN in connection with another open application.

  5. Local sync between Mac OS and iOS

    I know there is no Metanota for iOS so I think it is a dream to have a local sync (without iCloud, DB or SimpleNote ...)

  6. Provide an option for hiding Simplenote sharing tags

    Simplenote is using email-address-tags for sharing of notes. I don't need to see such tags in folders list. Actually these are wasting space. There is very rare use-case of looking what i have shared with specific email address. So i'd like to have an option to hide specific tags but see them after clicking on "See All" or similar in folders list.

  7. Inter-note linking

    Allow the double bracket [[Some other note filename]] notation for linking to other notes. The example here would then open the note named 'Some other note filename' when clicked.

    Optionally, you could allow for linking to other notes using a word in a sentence. Hard to describe, here is an example instead.

    This sentence should [[link | Some other note filename]] to a different note.

    Where the word 'link' is to become the clickable text, and when clicked will open the note named 'Some other note filename'.

  8. Hide Vertical Panels and HTML Preview

    Would be a great option to paid users to be able to hide the left to vertical panels and just leave the writing section :)

    I would also love to see an HTML Preview of the Markdown.

    Include a Markdown converter so that notes can be seen with formatting and not just markup. This is essential, surely, in a paid Markdown ap

  10. Copy markdown text to the clipboard as HTML or RTF

    It would be very useful if markdown formatted text in Metanota could be copied to the clipboard in HTML or RTF format. In this way text could be easily exported to a blog or a Word text.

    I like Metanota. I simply prefer the keyboard over clicking.

  12. Add TaskPaper-like project and task automatic formatting & editing

    I would find automatic formatting and editing for projects and tasks as in TaskPaper very useful (colon at the end of a line to indicate a project, dash and space at the beginning to indicate tasks, multiple levels within projects and easy selecting and moving of tasks be selecting entire lines. This would also work well with NoteTask on iOS.

  13. Add timeline-scrubbing support

    I used to use EtherPad for a workshop class that I teach, and the timeline-scrubbing feature, which lets you quickly 'replay' all edits to a document, is by far the most useful feature of the platform. SimpleNote's timeline is not as useful as EtherPad's, but it would still be wonderful to have support for this feature for those of us looking to find alternatives to EtherPad's too-flaky-for-work performance.

  19. Search with hotkey is unusable

    Make search barsticky or something else
    Now need press hotkey twice for recover focus on searchbar
    Hotkey must start search, but not show/hide searchbar

  20. add attachments

    If you are going to expand your backup service providers (evernote, box, etc); then please allow attachments.

    I was able to clear out 2000 emails into 50 notes, but I can't get rid of the last 200 because of attachments.
