  1. Correct full-screen mode

    When you return to Metanota in full-screen mode, the menu bar remains visible and covers the toolbar. The menu bar also does not contain the icon to return to windowed mode.

  2. Sort Folder Order

    Allow the display order of Folders (Tags) to be managed. For example, nobody wants ToDos listed alphabetically, they should be the top folder or the bottom folder. Further, related (say, work) Tags should be collected together and personal ones likewise.

  3. Don't trigger the nvidia graphics

    I find it strange that a very simple text notes editor would make my macbook switch to the dedicated video card. I think it's automatic, depending on the API you use or something ? But I think you should find out how to avoid that.

  4. Reduce processor usage during text input

    When I use Metanota to input text the program takes up to 10% processor usage (as shown in Activity Monitor). When I type in any other program my processor usage doesn't change. It seems as if something is going on that unnecessarily causes Metanota to spin up work while I type. If there is a local versioning system that runs continuously on a per-character basis, consider changing the code to detect when a user is actively typing do that a version is only created when the user has paused.

  6. Add menu bar icon

    Notes need to be quickly but randomly accessed. That means they need to be in the menu bar (with the option to remove the dock icon). Dock is over crowded and people already have too many shortcuts to remember.

  8. Bug: Sync setup required at every start!

    There seem to be still some bugs that cause the trouble which requires sync setup (or password input and auto-sync setting) at every start of the app.
    Environment: Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on MBA 2010

  9. Fix: After doing an Undo, note scrolls to top and cursor position is lost

    Hello,

    (I'm using Metanota 1.4 (5) on Mac OS 10.7.4)

    When I edit text within a long note, then do an Undo (via Command-Z), Metanota scrolls the note to the top-most position, and the text cursor is no longer positioned where I last made the edit.

    This is visually jarring and it requires that you scroll down through the document to find the specific location of your last edit in order to continue working.

    Please fix this such that performing an Undo at any time will simply undo the last change but leave the cursor at that location and not…

  10. Remove the colored dots by the folder/tags.

    They imply organization, but aren't user-definable. If they're there, I'd like to be able to define the colors. But they're not part of Simplenote, and not really needed.

  11. Markdown mode

    Just like the online version of simplenote. Add markdown mode and then switch between edit mode and markdown preview. It will be very helpful when add some text format in notes.

  12. Please add support for Chinese.

    Currently Chinese characters cannot be entered / displayed in the note area. Please fix it.

  14. Remember past sorting preferences. (or change default)

    When you exit the app, it should retain the way you have sorted your list in the past.

    For example, if I last sorted "by Title", when I re-open the app, it should retain that. Currently, it defaults back to "Date Created" everytime the app is closed and reopened.

    Alternatively, a setting to change the default sorting preferences could accomplish this too.
