Remove the colored dots by the folder/tags.
They imply organization, but aren't user-definable. If they're there, I'd like to be able to define the colors. But they're not part of Simplenote, and not really needed.

Yes, the "automatic" colors for folders were a "quick and dirty" solution for allowing users to identify folders at a glance. Not perfect by far.
They will be user definable in Metanota's next version. In fact I already implemented the feature, as you can see in the screenshot below :

It's true that these colors are not part of Simplenote. However, in my opinion, it is useful to be able to visually distinguish tags by color. So, my vote would be to make these tag colors user-definable.
Also, the roadmap for Metanota seems to be heading toward supporting other cloud services, like Evernote. So, I don't think it will matter as much if there is a corresponding feature in Simplenote specifically.
