    I see this is a feature in the new beta of 2.0 but in Markdown only, if you enclose URLs with <> That's good but I don't always write in MD so it would be still nice to have the clickable links feature in non-MD text ...

    Agreed, this would be a useful feature, especially with the Markdown capabilities in 2.0 beta.
