Add tags
Tags should be kept separate from the concept of folders. I like the folders, but would like tags that are not folders.

This would be a great feature. The mapping of SimpleNote tags to MetaNota folders feels awkward to me. I find the UX for tagging in most Mac apps – Evernote, SimpleNote to be one of the weakest links and was hoping MetaNota might have a better solution than SimpleNote.

Yes, and tags should be open-meta tags so they can be read by Finder and other programs such as LEAP and Yep. If they are just Mac tags, they only do half the job.
