New Feature: Option to hide notes via tag/folder(s)
I've been using Simplenote for a long time, so I have quite a lot of notes. As a result, the notes list in Metanota is cluttered. It would be a better user experience for me if I could get certain notes "out of sight, out of mind".
To me, an excellent "pro user" feature would be the ability to automatically hide all notes that contain a given simplenote tag.
The way I envision the feature:
Provide an optional preference field where the user could specify one or more Simplenote tags as their "archived note folder(s)".
- Then, the note list pane of the Metanota window would automatically filter out any notes that were filed into any of the specified archive note folders / simplenote tags.
Finally, provide a Metanota folder called "Archived" which would appear in the top-left along with All, Favorites, and Deleted folders. The Archived folder would show all the notes that are filed into one of the archive note folders.
- Icing on the cake: Add an option to the View menu called "Show archived notes" or "Show hidden notes". This option could be turned on and off to change the way notes are shown in the list, much like the "Show favorite notes on top" option. When shown, perhaps "archived" notes appear in a grey or lighter color to let non-archived notes stand out more in the list.
Thanks for considering this.

Dave

Nice idea ! I’ll consider a way to implement it “cross-providers”, as starting with 2.0 Metanota will support other notes “cloud” providers too.

Another use case for this is hiding email-address-tags which are used in Simplenote for sharing. I don't want to see email addresses in folders list, only natural folders.
